After 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday, a brutal murder was recorded in San Juan. It happened in the heart of the central area, precisely on 25 de Mayo Street, at the height of the section between Aberastain and Caseros, in the Capital. There, a woman of about 74 years old was approached by criminals and seriously injured in the head.

The woman, identified as Yolanda Hebbe, unfortunately lost her life on the way to the Hospital, because the injuries to her skull were irreversible. Now, they are investigating whether it occurred in a context of robbery, according to a version that was considered in the first instance. However, they found the victim’s belongings at the scene.

Regarding the details of the nature of the event, they indicated that the elderly woman was walking along the north sidewalk of 25 de Mayo Street, at which time she was approached by at least one subject who hit her with a hammer. Her blows landed on her face, precisely in the frontal area.

After committing the crime, the criminal escaped and left the murder weapon on the sidewalk. In turn, Hebbe was left lying on the floor seriously injured. Given this, the neighbors in the area alerted 911 and emergency personnel were present to assist her and transfer her to the Hospital. However, there was no return and the woman lost her life before reaching the hospital.

Now, the incident is being investigated by the UFI Special Crimes, led by Dr. Nicolás Schiattino. There are still no arrests.

The witness account

Some residents of the area spoke with the microphones of Zonda Diario and said that Hebbe was a neighbor, since she lived alone, in a consortium located on Pedro Echagüe Street. In addition, they assure that there are “many” security cameras, both in offices, homes and those of the CISEM.

“It was ugly to see the woman lying there, convulsing. A delivery man who was there was crying as if she were the mother,” Daniel Aciar, a resident of the area, told this medium.

In principle, he added that the delivery man was the one who first helped the woman. “Supposedly, a boy between 18 and 20 years old came running, he came from one of her and hit her. He left her lying on the floor and ran away,” said the same neighbors. In that sense, he highlighted that the delivery was a witness to that. Furthermore, they claim that he did not steal anything from her, but rather that he suddenly attacked her.

“It is the first time that an event as violent as that has occurred. There have been robberies or thefts, but never like this,” he lamented.
