The Gendarmerie managed to arrest in Buenos Aires a drug trafficker who brought drugs to Corrientes from Paraguay and who had been a fugitive since 2016.
The arrest was possible thanks to tasks carried out on Friday by gendarmes from the Complex Crimes Investigations and Judicial Procedures Unit of Corrientes, with the intervention of the Federal Court of Corrientes.
With the data collected, the South Belt Complex Crimes and Judicial Procedures Investigation Unit received a judicial letter ordering the arrest of the fugitive identified with the alias “Petiso”, who was allegedly located on a property in the province of Buenos Aires.
The drug trafficker belonged to a gang and had the function of coordinating with drug suppliers from Paraguay the entry of substances into Argentina through the Paraná River, using horses.
Finally, on Monday the search and arrest warrant was executed at the place indicated as “Petiso’s” residence, where he was found and detained.
During the search of the property, a carbine, a 38 caliber revolver, a cell phone and other items of interest to the case were found and seized.
As a result of field activities and after the search of a home, carried out on May 3 by personnel from the “Corrientes” Complex Crimes and Judicial Procedures Investigation Unit, information was gathered on the possible whereabouts of one of the members of a narcocriminal gang, of which the Federal Court of Corrientes intervened.
Subsequently, members of the Complex Crimes and Judicial Procedures Investigation Unit “Cinturón Sur” received a judicial letter, which ordered the arrest of the man under investigation, who apparently resided on a farm, located in the province of Buenos Aires.
The person involved, alias “Petiso”, had been a fugitive from justice since 2016. He was in charge of coordinating with narcotic suppliers from the Republic of Paraguay, the entry of illicit substances through the Paraná River, transporting them on horses.
Yesterday, officials belonging to this Unit deployed to the property, apprehended the citizen and proceeded to search the place.
By order of the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1, the uniformed officers seized a carbine, a 38 caliber revolver, a cell phone and other items of interest to the case.
