River tied 2-2 with Nacional with two goals in one minute and lost the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 Copa Libertadores Club World Cup but maintains the lead in Group H within the framework of the fourth date of the Copa Libertadores.
With goals from Miguel Borja and Facundo Colidio, River took the lead during the first half and was clearly dominating the match, but in the second half the scheme changed and Nacional, led by Gonzalo Carneiro, tied the match on two occasions.
The Argentine team retains first place in Group H, with three wins and a draw -10 points- but lost the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 Club World Cup against a direct rival such as Nacional, but still maintains its chances.
Eight minutes into the game, Borja captured a pass with his back to the goal outside the area, far from the goal, but the Colombian turned very freely and with a left foot shot crossed the shot that was unstoppable for Luis Mejía and made it 1 to 0 for River.
In a counterattack by River at 30 minutes, Borja led the advance after a pass from Rodrigo Villagra in the middle of the field and the Colombian saw him enabled Colidio with a cross pass in the area that the former Tigre connected almost inside the goal for 2 to 0.
Carneiro became a figure as he first scored from twelve steps and after River’s inattention in the background, Nacional hit on a counterattack and scored with a right hand for a 2-2 tie.
