With the paintings of Estela Milan, Humberto Costa, Jorge Marún and Adriana Carbajal, starting tomorrow, the Chalet Cantoni will begin to project itself as a new space for local art. Under the title Exhibition 4. Art, the exhibition will open at 9 p.m. with guests such as the reciter César Ruiz Bustelo and the musicians Federico Soria, Víctor Fernández and Gustavo Vaca.

Regarding the recent decision to open its doors to the visual arts, among other disciplines; its director, Natalia Ventimiglia spoke with CUYO’S DIARYas well as the artists who will kick off the gallery, still in the process of renovation.

“This was a very big challenge, because the image that the Chalet had was very different from the imprint we wanted to give. It went from being a place for Cultural Industries and coworking to becoming a cultural unit. We are having a very good response. We are still moving,’ said the official who has been in charge of the house since last January.

“Although it is a small space, we can have structures to hang more paintings like this time. The exhibition can be visited until the end of May on the ground floor,’ Ventimiglia stressed about what will represent a litmus test for the Cantoni that will join the circuit of pictorial rooms with a theme based “on showing 4 artists, united by art and friendship,” he added.

In this way, you can explore the oil landscapes of Jorge Marún, the portraits of Adriana Carbajal, the abstract strokes of Humberto Costa and the urban constructivism of Estela Milan with part of her series of oil paintings Urban Labyrinths.

Regarding the assembly, Milan explained that “this is about expanding and showing.” “It seems very important to me, it gives the possibility of exposing. It is spacious and bright, artists need spaces like that. For this reason, when the director invited me I proposed 4 ART, inspired by 4 very different styles on the same technique and support,’ she stated.

Meanwhile, Marún stressed that he has “great expectations.” “The young public at the Chalet is interesting, it is different from those who attend museums,” said the expressionist painter who will present 2 paintings that belong to private collections and will be exhibited on loan, in addition to 2 works made in 2024 and 2 from 2023. .

And Carbajal maintained that “art outside museums and in innovative, non-conventional spaces, where other communication networks and activities are interwoven, seems like a good idea to me. Art goes out to meet the community,’ he mentioned.

“Every time a new place for art opens, I celebrate it. Art is a reflection of human culture and, therefore, important for society,’ the painter noted that she will hang acrylics on canvas and an assembly of 20 small pieces.

On the other hand, in this decision to expand the creative horizons of the Cantoni, this Friday at 9 p.m. the Blues and Beer music series will begin with the performance of Belén Espinosa Blues Band, Blues Valentin and Roller Coaster; and on Saturday there will be the San Juan Association of Sommeliers with its wine bingo at 3 p.m.; both activities with free admission. The central objective? Transform the Chalet into “an open house for all artists and all disciplines”, indicated Ventimiglia about the building dependent on the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of San Juan that works together with the Municipality of Rivadavia.
