The oil toll for Neuquén routes has not yet advanced in the Legislature

In Neuquén there is already an initiative similar to the one that the Río Negro government will send to install tolls on provincial routes. It was presented by Governor Rolando Figueroa this month, but it is something that he has been announcing since the opening of legislative sessions on March 1.

It is a law that creates a «Road Fund» to allocate the money collected through the collection of tolls to the construction, maintenance and repair of routesas well as for the Provincial Road equipment.

It is oriented mainly to the transportation of loads, on which there will also be a weighing system will be applied that will collect fines to trucks that circulate overweight.

According to the text, the value of the toll would be determined for each type of vehicle, category, time zone, weight of transported cargo and number of axles, using the unit of measurement as the price per liter of grade 3 diesel, price at the public sale pump non-member of the Neuquén city branch of the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA), on the 1st of each month.

Light vehicles located in Neuquén, according to Figueroa’s proposal, will not have to pay.

The project was sent two weeks ago to the Constitutional Affairs and Budget committees, but the deputies have not yet given him treatment. Former governor Omar Gutiérrez had already presented a similar proposal during his administration that was truncated in the Legislature due to the unrest it had generated in the oil sector.

Although the toll system is not oriented only to the hydrocarbon industry, the Minister of Infrastructure, Rubén Etcheverry, already anticipated that the intention is to begin the pilot tests in the second semester on Route 67, one of the main arteries of Vaca Muerta.
