Full willingness in the technical and operational part on the part of the Departmental Government to support the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué, expressed Governor Adriana Magali Matiz in the face of the increase in rains.

Immediately and with a commitment to safeguard the lives and property of the inhabitants of Ibagué, Governor Adriana Magali Matiz traveled with her team to the Combeima Canyon to provide support to the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué in the face of emergencies presented by the heavy rains of the last hours.

Review of situations that require structural solutions to mitigate the effects of rains and advance risk management plans will be analyzed by the Departmental Risk Management Committee, there will be reviewed issues such as dredging of the Combeima River and the formulation of studies and designs to the construction of containment works in the invasion sector.

Likewise, the governor of Tolima reiterated the distribution of machinery in different parts of the department, the awarding of the machinery lease contract, as well as the call to the UNGRD to come to support in the municipalities where the machinery cannot reach which in these circumstances is not sufficient to attend to all emergencies.

“I reiterate to the mayor of Ibagué that we are fully willing to work, in an articulated manner, to support the community of the rural area of ​​Ibagué,” said Governor Adriana Magali Matiz.

For its part, the management of Cortolima, Olga Lucía Alfonso, ratified the support with machinery, taking into account the seven critical points detected in the Combeima Canyon and also announced a meeting with the mayor of Ibagué to analyze the issue of water collection in the upper part of the Musical Capital.
