In order to support search and rescue operations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and in municipalities located in the south of Brazil, its Colombian Air Force supports with the taking and analysis of satellite images, which will allow providing information to the risk management organizations on the areas affected by floods and thus determine courses of action to care for the population suffering from this climate emergency.
These actions, carried out by the Aerospace Intelligence Subdirectorate, are articulated with the activation of cooperation between the Air Forces of the region, within the framework of the Cooperation System of the American Air Forces SICOFAA, where its members activate means, procedures and capabilities that They contribute to the care of communities affected by natural disasters, which, in this case, is associated with climate change and increased rainfall due to the La Niña phenomenon.
The support from the FAC also materializes, making available to Brazil, a cargo and personnel transport aircraft to carry humanitarian aid that is coordinated between the governments of Colombia and Brazil and thus, contribute to improving the needs and minimum conditions. of the affected population.
