More than a dozen guns were seized from the home of a suspect arrested in San Jose.

Police reported that in early January they conducted a traffic stop where they found evidence that the driver, identified as Juan Rodríguez Sandoval, was allegedly related to the illegal sale of weapons.

Sandoval was transporting the weapons with two minors aboard the vehicle.

During the investigation of the case, authorities issued a search warrant for Sandoval’s home located in the 1700 block of Cortez Avenue.

On April 25, officers went to the property where they seized 19 firearms, thousands of cartridges, explosive material and firearms accessories.

Authorities explained that they identified a second home associated with the suspect in San Benito County.

In that property they recovered 17 firearms.

Sandoval was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of illegal firearms, possession of an assault weapon and endangering a child.
