The meeting was also conducive to awarding the special category of Professor Emeritus to Doctor of Science Caridad Cancio López, for her contributions to the work of the Sancti Spiritus university and to Cuban pedagogy, both as an educator of several generations, and for her role as painting, which he performed satisfactorily.

In addition, he fulfilled an internationalist mission in Latin American countries, such as Bolivia, where his work left deep marks.

Cancio López began his words of gratitude with an emotional tribute to the Revolution and, especially, to Fidel Castro Ruz, for the opportunity to train as an academic.

“I thank this university; Without her I could not be the woman I am; It is, without a doubt, my second home. To the colleagues who were by my side when facing the work as a cadre I also thank you infinitely. Of course, to the family, the one who accompanied me in every endeavor,” she expressed.
