Next Friday, May 17, at 8 p.m., in the facilities of the auditorium located at San Jerónimo 1745 in the city of Santa Fe, a new day of the Ateneo Jorge Luis Borges will take place, jointly promoted by the Galisteo Foundation, Sures Magazine and the Ferrovía Bookstore.

On this occasion, a conference will be presented by the Russian translator and researcher Irina Chernova, who will address a tour of the work of the two most universal Russian authors, pointing out their discrepancies and their legacies.

The speaker has a bachelor’s degree in literary translation from the Maxim Gorky Institute of Literature, a degree in History, theory and criticism of the performing arts from the Russian University of the Performing Arts-GITIS and a Master’s degree in Advanced Literature Studies from the University of Barcelona. She works as a theater and literature researcher and her areas of interest include literature and social movements. As a researcher, she has articles published in several academic journals and has collaborated on several occasions with the Cervantes Institute of Moscow. Her translations have been published in Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, Mexico, Spain and Chile. She has made translations from Russian of Leon Trotsky, Arseni Tarkovsky, Osip Mandelstam, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Varlam Shalamov.
