Within the framework of the 2024 Update Conference of the Fiscal Investigation Corps (CIF), the experts spoke on the investigation of environmental crimes, highlighting the importance of following appropriate protocols for the preservation of the environment.
Environment Specialists Forensic Engineering and Chemistry Service of the Fiscal Investigation Corps (CIF) They offered training to the personnel of the CIF, Prosecutor’s Offices, Environmental and Lake Division of the Salta Police and Gendarmerie.
During their presentations, the Chemical Engineer Leonor Barrenechea, the Natural Resources and Environment Engineer Joel Medina, and the Biological Sciences graduate Jimena Gato, detailed the operation and scope of the area in charge of investigating environmental crimes, such as water and soil contamination, clearings, poor management of hazardous and urban solid waste.
Within the framework of an update day, experts in environmental issues reminded those present of the key aspects to consider in an environmental scene and how to carry out the collection of samples. In addition, they highlighted the importance of photographically documenting the place and carrying out a planimetry or using satellite images for a better understanding of the situation.
