Tunja, May 8, 2024. (UACP). The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development launches the Mobile Animal Health Brigades, a comprehensive initiative aimed at providing free veterinary medical care to dogs and cats in vulnerable situations, which is possible thanks to inter-institutional coordination with the mayors, the Zoonoses Program of the Ministry of Health of Boyacá and the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC).

Next Friday, May 10, starting at 8:00 am, the First Mobile Animal Welfare Brigade for Dogs and Cats will take place in the Jenesano Biopark, where the Boyacá Grande government will reach with four bets:

1. Institutional strengthening on issues of animal abuse and care routes.

2. Training in responsible ownership of dogs and cats aimed at the community.

3. Public health with anti-rabies vaccination.

4. Animal health with physical veterinary assessment and deworming for dogs and cats.

“From the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development we want to strengthen the attention paid to companion animals so that, together, we continue to build a culture of good treatment towards them. We base our commitment on responsibility in animal ownership, institutional management, care and protection,” said Jessica Suancha, support professional for the sector’s Animal Welfare Group.

“We invite all inhabitants of the municipality of Jenesano to take advantage of this opportunity and attend this productive day for the health of animals,” the official reiterated.

An important pillar in the construction of this strategy has been the international guidelines on the management of canine and feline populations, through which we seek to educate pet owners and cats, and promote healthy environments for humans, animals and the environment. department environment.
