The Emprender Paz Award, recognized for highlighting the transformative power of companies in Colombia, opens its doors for a new call, in which more than 1,000 business initiatives with social impact compete for the award. In its 16-year history, this award has brought hope to challenging regions of the country, and this year is no exception.

The private sector is a fundamental ally in the construction of peace and development, the Emprender Paz Award is like a showcase for those companies that, despite the challenges, strive to generate a positive impact on their communities.

Huila has local companies that have stood out for their commitment to generating decent employment, promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life of communities in challenging environments.

According to data from the Emprender Paz Corporation, 66% of business initiatives with social impact have been led by micro and small companies, thus demonstrating the diverse and resilient business fabric of the region. In addition, the service and agricultural sectors have stood out for their potential in the development of initiatives in challenging areas of Huila.

This year, the call for the Emprender Paz Award has the support of the Grupo Social Foundation, the Embassy of Sweden, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Ayuda en Acción Foundation. From April 22 to June 7, entrepreneurs from Huila and throughout the country will have the opportunity to apply their sustainable business initiatives that generate value and transformation in their communities.

Liliana Hernández, director of the Emprender Paz Corporation, emphasized the importance of learning about more business initiatives in territories where the business fabric is under construction, inviting companies of all sizes and sectors to participate in this edition of the award.

The winning companies of this edition will receive not only recognition from the country, but also an incentive between 10 and 35 million pesos, destined for technical assistance, training or machinery, which will allow them to continue strengthening their social and economic impact in Huila and more. there.

The application process is open and can be done through the website www.emprenderpaz.org. Interested companies must meet certain requirements, such as having a minimum of 3 years of legal incorporation and presenting business initiatives related to the company’s value chain, developed in territories affected by violence and/or benefit populations with fewer development possibilities.
