The jury of IX Provincial Competition for Patios, Corners and Bars, promoted by the Provincial Tourism Board of the Provincial Council, has announced the names of the winning spaces of this edition. The first prizes have gone to ehe patio on Empresaria Teresa Córdoba Street (Rute), the staircase of the Belmez castle in the corner category and the house located on Real Street, in Priego de Córdoba, in the bars and balconies category.
In the category of patios, The second prize has also gone to a Rute patio, at C/Francisco Salto, 48; the third has been for a space in Céspedes (Hornachuelos), at C/El Cerro, 6; the fourth has taken it Pedroche with the patio on Francisco Botello Street, 16; The fifth has been for the space at C/Pintor Murillo, 10, in Villanueva de Córdoba, and the sixth has taken him Palm of the River with the patio of C/Cuerpo de Cristo 9.
As for the Typical Corners, the second prize went to the Patio de las Comedias 2, in Iznájar; the third for a corner on C/Pozo Fuente, in Cañete de las Torres; The fourth went to Doña Mencía, at the corner of C/Juanita la Larga; the fifth was for the climb to Rosario, in Luque; and the sixth has fallen on the corner of Travesía street, in Villanueva del Rey.
Finally, in the Bars and Balconies category, the second prize went to Villanueva de Córdoba (C/Pelayo, 15), the third to Villaviciosa de Córdoba (C/Arrayanes, 17), the fourth to Priego de Córdoba (C/ Real, 19), the fifth for Hornachuelos (C/Olivo, 5, 1st floor) and the sixth for Cañete de las Torres (C/Reyes Católicos, 11).
The person in charge of Tourism in the Provincial Council and vice president of the Board of Trustees, Narci Ruiz, has valued the participation achieved and the quality of the spaces, “partly due to the fact that, as a novelty, this year we have carried out a prior and exhaustive selection since “The participants have provided a recent panoramic photograph of the space.”
Furthermore, he highlighted, “this year the town councils have been able to participate with their municipal spaces by presenting up to a maximum of five spaces, thus ensuring that the spaces presented had optimal quality and specific singularities.”
Finally, he pointed out that “in 2024 a total of 94 spaces have been submitted to the contest, the same number as the previous year. Of this number, 23 have been submitted in the Cordoban Patios category, 44 in Typical Corners and 27 in Bars and balconies, distributed in 30 locations in Córdoba”.
