The Military Forces captured alias ‘Firulais’, the leader of the Jairo de Jesús Durango Restrepo structure of the Clan del Golfo in the department of Chocó. The capture occurred in the midst of combat after intelligence work by the Colombian Navy and the Air Force, which led to the location of the criminal who tried to hide in the Playa Potes sector of the municipality of Bahía Solano.

Once the Military Forces arrived in the area; The criminals attacked the troops, so a fight took place which led to the capture of this man and two more people. In the midst of the confrontation, the death of a person whose identity has yet to be established was also recorded.

Alias ​​’Firulais’, according to the investigation, is a feared leader of the Gulf Clan who served as ringleader and financier of the self-proclaimed Jairo de Jesús Durango Restrepo block and was a trusted man of alias ‘El Cura’; In addition, he had control and management of the drug trafficking routes on the Chocó Pacific coast.

‘Firulais’ would be directly responsible for the harassment of the Puerto Meluk Police, Chocó, on May 7, 2022; of the forced displacement of more than 300 people in the Peña Azul community, confining the communities in the head of the municipality of Alto Baudó,” indicated General Wilson Martínez, commander of the Joint Task Force Titan.

During the operation that led to the capture of alias ‘Firulais’, the authorities seized 110 units of ammunition of different calibers, a gun and communication equipment. Material was made available to the competent authority.
