This Sunday, the department of Casanare will commemorate Farmer’s Day with agricultural fairs in the municipalities of Trinidad, Villanueva and Yopal. The Secretariat of Economic Development has organized these activities to recognize and celebrate the work of farmers, fundamental in the production of food for the region and the country.
In Trinidad, the fair will take place in the covered field of the Las Palmeras neighborhood, the event will begin at 6:00 in the morning with a peasant market, followed by the formal opening ceremonies at 9:00 in the morning. The Governor of Casanare, César Ortiz Zorro, will accompany the mayor of Trinidad in this celebration, which will have the participation of the National Army, SENA, universities and other allied organizations such as the Banco Agrario de Colombia.
Simultaneously, in Villanueva, the activities will begin at 5:00 in the morning in the livestock center, culminating at 2:00 in the afternoon with a livestock market. This event seeks to provide a space for integration and tribute to the farmers of the area, highlighting their importance in the local economy. The infrastructure of the livestock center will be the main stage for the activities of this day.
In Yopal, the fair will be held at the Alcaraván Shopping Center where farmers will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products, thus strengthening the relationship between producers and consumers.
