The cycle “Science in Dialogue Córdoba” arrives at the Evita-Palacio Ferreyra Museum

The Government of the Province of Córdoba, through the Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation, launches the cycle “Science in Dialogue Córdoba”, whose main objective is to bring the latest advances, discoveries and discussions in science and technology in thematic areas specific, directly to the Córdoba community.

Meanwhile, this first meeting will be on Thursday, May 16 at 6:15 p.m. at the Evita Museum – Palacio Ferreyra, with free entry through registration with limited space.

This initiative is managed by the Directorate of Dissemination of Sciences and Technology, dependent on the Secretariat of Science and Technology of the Ministry. The Córdoba Culture Agency and Conicet Córdoba accompany the organization.

In the first meeting, the table “Let’s talk about AI” will be presented, made up of speakers specialized in the topic, with a focus on communication, philosophy and technoscience. At the same time, the audience will also be able to exchange their reflections or ask questions to the guest speakers.

Speakers at the first meeting

Ekaitz Cancela Rodríguez: Spanish journalist and writer, researcher of the repercussions of the digital age and the transformations of capitalism. He graduated in journalism, advertising and public relations, with studies in philosophy of history. He is currently an editor at the content curation platform The Syllabus and part of the Center for the Advancement of Infrastructural Imagination (CAII).

Javier Blanco: director of the Master’s Degree in Technology, Policies and Culture at the National University of Córdoba (UNC). He is a specialist in philosophy and computing, philosophy of information and philosophy of technology.

Dario Sandrone: professor and doctor in Philosophy from the National University of Córdoba (UNC). Currently, he is vice director of the School of Philosophy-FFyH-UNC. Author of books such as “Selva Artificial” and “De Mon a Fri, las cosas”. Member of Dédalus, columnist in print and radio media about technology and culture.

Laura Alonso Alemany: PhD in Cognitive and Language Science, professor and researcher in Computer Science – Famaf – UNC. She is a member of the Artificial Intelligence ethics team of the Vía Libre Foundation and La Liga del Bien. She participates in numerous Artificial Intelligence, scientific and transfer projects to the socio-productive sector.

About the cycle

Science in Dialogue Córdoba is dedicated to the dissemination of current knowledge, sharing cutting-edge knowledge in scientific and technological fields, as well as the experiences of experts in the field and the community itself interested in these topics. In addition, it promotes dialogue between the scientific-technological system and the community, generating spaces for exchange through talks, workshops and conferences, through the well-known format of scientific cafes.

Science in Dialogue: a cycle for everyone

This program will present different cycles, between May and November, referring to current topics in science and technology, aimed especially at young people and adults in the Córdoba community. It seeks to promote the dissemination of current scientific and technological knowledge, facilitate dialogue between experts and the community, as well as stimulate interest and active participation in these topics. The objective is to promote conversations about the problems that concern us, promoting mutual understanding, critical and enriching understanding, with scientific information.
