The Statistics Institute of the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office surveys every month the perception that Córdoba citizens have regarding the economic situation of the home, the country, future expectations, inflation and quality of life, among others. aspects.
For this, 1,197 people over 18 years of age, residing in our city, were surveyed through digital media and in person.
40% of those consulted thought that their economic situation worsened in the last year. This intensifies as age advances, almost 71% of those over 60 responded that their situation worsened.
When asked how inflation affected purchasing capacity, 70% of those surveyed stated that they cannot buy the same as they did a year ago, 22% could, and only 6.9% bought more.
One fact to highlight is that despite the negative opinions regarding the previous year or the current moment, 60.7% think that their economic situation will improve next year. Confidence is growing among the youngest, since 66% of those between 18 and 30 years old are optimistic about the future. In this sense, those who have the capacity to save are more confident; of these, 71.6% are confident that next year the economic situation will improve.
When asked about the main problems of the country, the people of Córdoba understand that corruption (33.8%), inflation (19.9%), low salaries (12.9%) and insecurity (8.9%) represent the greater difficulties.
It is worth noting that this assessment is repeated regardless of sociodemographic variables; it does not change by gender, income, educational level, or job occupation. The situation of retirees, increasingly compromised.
85.7% of older adults expressed that due to inflation they cannot buy the same as they did a year ago. This is aggravated among those who have great difficulty covering monthly expenses, where 96.3% are greatly affected by inflation.
