During the event, Benedetti reiterated the harmony between the objectives of Gustavo Petro’s government and the efforts of the FAO, highlighting the importance of this strategic alliance to advance crucial issues such as Agrarian Reform, the industrialization of agriculture and the substitution of crops.
In his own words, Benedetti expressed, “I am absolutely pleased to know that there is total harmony between the objectives of the government of President Gustavo Petro and the efforts of the FAO, which will be our great ally to carry out the Agrarian Reform, the industrialization of agriculture and crop substitution”.
In this context, Qu Dongyu, director of FAO, expressed his gratitude to the Colombian government for the reopening of the embassy to the organization. This action is perceived as a catalyst for several fronts, including the Pact for Peace, Food Security and the Human Right to Food.
In addition to highlighting strategic collaboration in areas such as sustainable agriculture, the fight against hunger and rural poverty, Benedetti emphasized his commitment to Total Peace in Colombia, articulating efforts with FAO to achieve these crucial objectives.
