When asked by several national senators about the state of public works in relation to national routes, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Nicolás Posse, explained that “there is a large number of works that were stopped or with payment delays and price update for many months”, but stated that they are working on “sorting the issue as quickly as possible.”

“The routes that are neutralized are because there are administrative acts to neutralize deadlines and contractual obligations agreed between the parties until their restart is resolved. It has to do with not having the necessary funds and leaving the works under review, both in terms of their priority and their possibility of execution,” Edith Terenzi replied to Chubut native.

He also explained that “a large number of works are paralyzed due to delays in payments and price updates. The entire system is reviewing priorities with the interlocutors of each of the provinces”, and reported that “there are works that are going to be terminated, others are in conversation to transfer them to provincial or municipal jurisdictions and the rest are in a process restart or neutralization.

Regarding the national routes of Entre Ríos, 12 and 14, he explained that there “they work with the concessionaire Caminos del Río Uruguay SA, which is in charge of different sections of the routes. The contract was extended in April, this should tend towards normalization and a new call for bids will incorporate the work plans for the necessary improvements to the layout. Much of the concession route system could not pay for maintenance. “There has been a mismatch that delayed the entire system.”

“A large number of works were stopped and slowed down or had problems with payment delays and price updates for many months, which made execution unfeasible. “We are working to sort out this issue as quickly as possible,” he stated in statements reproduced by Parliament. Source: Ahora.com.ar
