Military training ended in a horrifying tragedy when a soldier jumped out of a plane to practice skydivingbut he fell into the void and died after equipment failure. This is the sergeant Franco Daniel Maizarezfrom the Command of the IV Airborne Brigade, which carried out this training in the La Calera area, northwest of the city of Córdoba.
Sergeant Maizarez died while participating in “a scheduled operational training activity,” which consisted of “the launching of automatic and high-infiltration parachutes at the military training field, in the vicinity of the La Mezquita Aerodrome,” according to the statement from press released this Saturday by the General Secretariat of the Army.
The Army confirmed the sad news and issued a statement to convey their condolences to the sergeant’s family and friends.
“With regret we announce the death of Sergeant Franco Daniel Maizarez, of the IVth Airborne Brigade Command, during a service activity,” they noted through a publication on the X social network.
The investigation into Maizarez’s death was left in the hands of Federal Court No. 3, headed by Dr. Miguel Hugo Vaca Narvaja, according to the Ministry of Defense. For its part, the Army began internal administrative actions.

Petri, for his part, said he contacted the sergeant’s family to express his condolences and provide support. “I contacted Mario, father of Sergeant Franco Daniel Maizarez, of the Command of the IVth Airborne Brigade, to express my condolences and those of the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, for his death during a service activity, and to offer him our support and support, along with that of the Ministry of Defense, in this difficult moment,” the official wrote.
“I deeply regret the loss of Franco, a son, father and great soldier. Loved by everyone in the Argentine Army. His dedication and courage will always be remembered,” he added.
