What happened in Morales, Cauca?
On Monday, May 20, a faction of the EMC, the main dissident of the FARC, harassed the Morales police station for about two hours, where the public force arrived hours later to support the police and regain control.
“This was not seen many years ago; they did a lot of damage, not only to the police station also to family homes and businesses,” a Morales neighbor told EFE after the attack.
Four people died in the attacks, two police officers and two prisoners who were in the institution’s station.
During the day, six people were also injured by the detonation of a motorcycle bomb at 6:15 am near a hotel where uniformed people stay that they are “strengthening the security of the municipality” of Jamundí, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
