The director of the Parador de la Arruzafa, Antonio López, has indicated that during this week of the fair there has been 90 percent occupancy, a little more than occupation than last yearthat is, with an increase that is around 3 percent.

The bullfighting shows do not seem to have affected the increase in clients at the hotel, López clarified, recalling that the reservations made during these weeks correspond to 60 percent of national tourists and a 40 percent internationalgenerally coming from rest of europe although more and more Asian tourism is seen.

From the Hotel Hesperiaon the other side of the river, one of the closest to the fairgrounds, the average occupancy this week has been 81.62 percent, according to sources from the four-star hotel establishment.

In the case of this hotel, compared to last year’s occupancy, the average was 90 percent, and this year it has dropped to almost 76 percent, a drop that the establishment itself attributes to the increase in rates.

Finally, from the Hospes Bailio, a five-star rating indicates that the occupancy level of the first weekend of the Fair It has been four points below the previous year, standing at 94 percent occupancy compared to 98 in 2023.

Price increase in the five stars

The average occupancy level this week in this five-star establishment is 71 percent, while last year the percentage was around 85 percent, with a considerable drop of almost 14 points. These same Hospes sources point out that “the increase in 10 percent of the price average compared to 2023 is behind this gap, although it is a better result globally than last year.”

It must be remembered that during the Fair week 2023 The hotel occupancy figure had already dropped by around 20 percent, while in the month of May as a whole the drop was 10 percent compared to the previous year (2022).

The hotel employers then attributed this drop in occupancy during the Fair to two factors, on the one hand, “the presence of rain all week and lack of tourism promotion of Córdoba both by the City Council of Córdoba and the Provincial Council.”

Then, the five-star Hospes Palacio del Bailío Hotel had been practically full from the Friday of the lighting until the last Saturday of the fair. However, the four and three star categories They did not record the same data, but were already lower than last year’s Fair.
