Strengthen inclusion for people with disabilities

Through the Undersecretary of Disability, the delivery of wheelchairs to different public entities began. The support elements were provided by the non-governmental organization CILSA.

The Minister of Human Development, Local Governments and Women, Julieta Corroza, together with authorities from the Ministry of Culture, Inclusion and Community Management and the Undersecretary of Disability, delivered ten wheelchairs to the Provincial Entity of Termas (EPROTEN), with the objective of promoting the full participation, with autonomy and independence of people with disabilities. Another ten will be allocated to various public entities.

Minister Corroza highlighted that “this is an example, once again, of the results generated by joint and articulated work, in this case together with a civil society organization, to provide greater accessibility in different public spaces.”

He added that “we have to continue working on inclusive policies for all people, today we take a very important step in bringing this equipment closer not only to Termas but also to other institutions.”

The activity included, along with Minister Corroza, the Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Fernández Capiet, the Secretary of Culture, Inclusion and Community Management, Miryan Abojer, the Undersecretary of Disability, Gustavo Iril, and the coordinator of that area, Gastón D’ Angelo and the president of EPROTEN, Martín Ramos.

The equipment was provided to the Province through the National Program for the Delivery of Orthopedic Elements of the Free and Solidarity Integration Center of Argentina (CILSA), an NGO for inclusion headed by Laura Reginatto. It was received by the Ministry of Culture, Inclusion and Community Management, through the Undersecretary of Disability.

“We are creating a link with the NGO CILSA, which is from Santa Fe and has branches throughout the country. On this occasion, with the delivery of special transportation wheelchairs for the different institutions,” explained the Undersecretary of Disability, Gustavo Iril.

Matías Ramos, president of EPROTEN, expressed his gratitude and highlighted that “we have been working with the Undersecretary of Disability, we carried out a survey in Caviahue-Copahue thinking about accessibility.”

He explained that the ten chairs received will be destined, one to the Neuquén Thermal Center, another to Loncopué and the rest to the Copahue Thermal Complex, since they are essential for accessibility to the thermal baths.

The remaining chairs will be awarded to different cultural, tourist and historical spaces in the province. It was highlighted that it is of utmost importance that entities that have facilities and services intended for citizens in general can promote accessibility, guaranteeing access for people with disabilities and their families to attend and participate on equal terms with others. cultural, recreational and leisure life.

The Undersecretary of Disability reported that the delivery of these support elements is in line with the actions that have been carried out jointly with the Termas Entity, among which the survey of building and communication accessibility carried out in February stands out. passed at the Copahue Thermal Complex and will continue with the disability perspective training for all staff scheduled for June in Loncopué.
