ArteCo opened its doors in the Port of Corrientes

Organized by the Government of Corrientes through the Institute of Culture, this Thursday the sixth edition of the Corrientes Contemporary Art Fair (ArteCo) opened its doors at the facilities of the capital’s Port.

Until Sunday the 26th, residents and tourists can visit the galleries that exhibit prominent regional artists, who number more than 500 among the different proposals of painting, audiovisuals, music, literature and other aspects.

This event, which is already consolidated within the Corrientes cultural calendar, can be visited from 2 to 10 p.m., with access through Mendoza Street and Vera Avenue. Entrance is free and open.

The fair brings together various artistic proposals, including the presence of art galleries from Argentina selected by a jury. Also galleries from Paraguay, collective projects and individual artists from Corrientes (selected by call).

ArteCo thus allows for the growth of the sector in the circulation and commercialization of works of art from the region, with the participation of new local projects, strengthening meeting spaces and mutual and collective participation of artists.

The opening ceremony was led by Gabriel Romero, dean of the UNNE Faculty of Arts and, until recently, president of the Institute of Culture. “For us the link between Culture and the University is important, historically we have worked together and we will continue to do so for the good of regional art,” he declared.

Meanwhile, the curator of the fair, Gustavo Piñero, indicated that the expectations of the event in the future are to be able to bring together art from the entire Guaranític region, that is, from northern Argentina, Paraguay, southern Brazil and eastern Bolivia. “That is the way, that is why this year we strengthened ties with artists from Paraguay.”
