A guarantee control judge sent eight alleged members of a structure dedicated to drug trafficking to prisonwhich would be involved with the production and shipment of tons of cocaine hydrochloride through the Gulf of Urabá destined for the United States and Central American countries.

A prosecutor of the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking managed to establish that the illegal organization used several clandestine laboratories for the manufacture and processing of the alkaloid in the municipality of Necoclí, Antioquia.

Likewise, it was learned in the middle of the investigation that from that area of ​​the country, the transportation of cocaine was coordinated to the port terminal of Urabá and then it was hidden in containers that had the United States as its main destination.

The defendants were identified as: Omar de Jesús Hoyos Castañedaalias ‘El Pluma’ or ‘El Grande’, alleged ringleader and main financier of the criminal network; Carlos Aníbal Hoyos Castañedaalias ‘Caliche’, who would be in charge of logistical matters; Jhon Fredy Ramírez Urrego, alias ‘Nito’, designated administrator of the laboratories; José Manuel Mejía Ibáñezalias ‘Mañe’; César Alexander Acevedo Mayaalias ‘Carrasca’; Llager Padilla Algiersalias ‘Yagüe’; Daniel Andrés Ramírez Hoyos and Víctor de Jesús Mejía Ramírezpossible responsible for production and transportation.

Because of this, The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with conspiracy to commit a crime for drug trafficking purposes.

All of the detainees declared themselves innocent, however, the judge imposed a preventive and temporary measure of deprivation of liberty in a prison facility.

In the midst of the capture operations, 899 kilograms of cocaine, 975 kilograms of solid chemical inputs and 4,340 gallons of liquid inputs were seized by the authorities; and destroyed a laboratory.
