Lumni, a social company of Colombian origin that finances the higher education and post-secondary training for talented low-income young people in Latin America, reopens its doors so that 550 young people can begin or continue their educational process with the support of up to 80% of university enrollment.

According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics, DANE, a professional earns on average a salary 2.4 times higher than a person who graduated from secondary education and is 2.5 times more likely to have a formal employment contract; before these figures.

For this reason, and in order to promote access to education for young peopleyoung people from Bogotá, Medellín and Caliand in alliance with different universities in these cities, Lumni opens the call.

There are 13 agreements with Colombian universities.

“Higher education is an indispensable tool for success and these types of initiatives seek to increase access to opportunities for more young people in Colombia, especially for those who face economic challenges. With Lumni, the dream of higher education is within everyone’s reach,” said Kira Gidron, CEO of Lumni.

Who can participate in the call?

Places are open for students entering the first semester of undergraduate and also for old students who have already completed some semesters and need financial support to finish their studies. Furthermore, it also applies to those people who wish to carry out specializations or master’s degrees.

Among the 13 participating universities are recognized names such as the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad EAN, Universidad EAFIT, Universidad ICESI, Universidad EIA, Universidad de Medellín, Universidad Piloto de Colombia, Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Universidad el Bosque, Universidad Central, Uniempresarial, and Unicafam, among others.

The program has 550 places available in a wide variety of careers and offers a series of benefits for students, including economical support flexible to cover training registration, access to complementary workshops to strengthen soft skills, permanent support throughout the process, and access to the orientation and preparation program for employability, which helps build the resume and improve the professional profile.

Requirements to apply

  • Belong to strata 1, 2 or 3
  • Have a household income of a maximum of 4 minimum wages
  • Not have negative reports in risk centers
  • Have a jointly responsible
  • Applicants must be admitted to one of the participating universities.

Scholarships require a responsible person.
