In several sectors of Santa Marta, graffiti with the initials of the Clan del Golfo has begun to appear accompanied by the message: “We are here to stay, att los cousins.” The appearance has generated concern, after the criminal actions carried out by this criminal group.

According to violence analysts, this message would be a warning between criminal gangs and its objective would be to sow terror in some areas of the city; however, for Lerber Dimas, human rights defender, The Cousins would not have the capacity to enter Santa Marta.

“This is an organized gang of viciously murderous criminals, they demonstrated it with what happened in Fundación, But that fact does not give them the power to enter a city like Santa Marta, not even the Clan del Golfo, with all the strength they have, have managed to dominate the city,” said Dimas.

Let us remember that Los Primos’ were responsible for leaving a dismembered corpse in a cellar in the middle of a public street in Fundación, Magdalena, a situation that It generated terror and took the inhabitants of this municipality back to the time when the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia had power in the territory and caused all kinds of horrors against the population.

Los Primos are an organized gang that operates between Aracataca and Fundación, and this group commits crimes in partnership with the Clan del Golfo, which disputes control of the territory with the Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra. So far no authority in Santa Marta has commented on the appearance of this graffiti in the city.
