These are two key routes that, according to the Neuquén government, will improve connectivity from the southern zone with Chile and with the rest of the province, in addition to the impact that both routes have on tourism. The two roads are included in the projects that the credit agency will finance in the province.

Ousset indicated that, based on the CAF evaluation mission, “We believe that in the coming months we will be able to promote our public works planbecause we need to reactivate the works that are important for our province, and the evaluation mission in some way validates that we are on the right track and we hope in the coming days to also have news regarding this financing that has already been prioritized by the Nation and that we have been working on.”

For his part, Bertoldi maintained that two routes were traveled that constitute two road projects that were prioritized in the CAF loan, which has already been authorized. “The routes we traveled were Route 60, the Mamuil-Malal Pass, and Route 46, better known as Bajada Rahue, which completes the planning and connectivity of the south that the governor required so much of us and is also a necessity of the territory. ”, indicated Bertoldi.

He explained that the objective of the mission of the CAF representatives was to “evaluate the territory, tour it, mark the key and strategic points, identify part of the documentation that has already been sent with the technical teams and take a tour on site to then proceed. to the last steps that have to do with the bidding and awarding and subsequent contracting of these works.”

“All these works are a priority for our management, they are a priority for the governor (Rolando Figueroa), and thus we are aiming to speed up and optimize this time, so we estimate that in the second semester we will be able to announce good news about these projects ”.

Mission and journey

The delegation of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), visiting the province of Neuquén, carried out, this Thursday and Friday, an exhaustive tour of different sections of the routes that the provincial government seeks to advance in its modernization.

Those investments have already been managed. In fact, just a few days ago, CAF approved the financing. The commission was made up of Leonardo Mesías, Christian Dunkerley and José Blanco, who carried out the economic, environmental, technical and institutional evaluations.

The comprehensive evaluation of the “Territorial Balance and Development Program of the Province of Neuquén” was the step that followed the approval of the financing of 237 million dollars, which was managed by the governor. A part of these funds (100 million) will be available this year and will be allocated to road infrastructure works, (including the routes mentioned), education, tourism, security and connectivity, among others.

The commission traveled along provincial route 60, in the section of the access gate of the Lanín National Park to the Mamuil Malal Argentine Border complex; as well as provincial route 46 from the junction with route 24 to Cuesta del Rahue – Arroyo Coloco.
