Bogotá, May 25 (EFE).- The Colombian authorities arrested and brought to justice Norbey Olivares Rojas, alias ‘El Diablo’, who is accused of several armed attacks and of buying and selling drugs in Colombia, the Prosecutor’s Office reported this Saturday. .

The detainee would lead a criminal organization that is involved, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, in selective homicides, sale of narcotics and extortion in Villavicencio (Meta).

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Olivares “acquired cocaine and marijuana from the FARC dissident structures that have criminal interference in the east of the country.”

These substances were stored on a farm owned by them and later sent to different points to be sold. In addition, he had a junkyard that served to hide the drugs and coordinate their distribution, as determined by the prosecuting entity.

The detainee is also responsible, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, for two attacks with firearms, one on December 20, 2023 in Villavicencio, in which one person died, and the other on March 4 of this year in Hato Corozal ( Casanare), which left one injured.

The accused, who has been charged with the crimes of aggravated homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated criminal conspiracy for the purposes of extortion; and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, was sent to preventive detention, after not accepting the charges. EFE
