Through the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, the National Police managed to capture six people accused of being part of a criminal organization dedicated to the production of cocaine in Antioquia. The structure is accused of trafficking this drug to countries in Central America and Europe.

“These people face charges of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics, with conspiracy to commit a crime. Organization led by alias ‘El Flaco’ or ‘Machacho’, an invisible drug trafficker,” reported Colonel Ricardo Sánchez, director of Anti-Narcotics of the National Police.

The captures took place in the municipalities of Belmira, La Unión and Medellín. This network also moved drugs through the ports of Cartagena and Urabá to the United States and Europe.

“This criminal group made payments to Clan del Golfo structures to allow the production, collection and trafficking of this substance; “It used intermediaries to contaminate containers in seaports,” Sánchez added.

According to the investigation, they had the capacity to produce and move 3 tons of cocaine per month; in fact, in the police operation, the seizure of 2.4 tons of cocaine valued at 81 million of dollars.
