The mayor of Santiago de Cali, Alejandro Eder, gave reassurance to citizens and said that work is being done to protect the city. “We do it hand in hand with the Police, the Army and all the entities of the Mayor’s Office. So far this year, we have already captured 18 terrorists linked to the support networks of these groups and, additionally, we have prevented at least two attempted attacks on our city.”he claimed.
“To those who want to bring Cali to its knees before terrorism, know that this is not going to happen. “Here we are taking care of our city and we will take all necessary measures.”warned the president of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
The criminal work of alias ‘Tigre’ in this organization was to transport weapons, explosives and war material, with an area of criminal interference in the towns of Potrerito, San Antonio and Puente Vélez, municipality of Jamundí.
He would receive direct orders from alias ‘Pincher’, leader and explosives of this same group, to carry out terrorist attacks against the Public Force, in the municipalities of Cali and Jamundí. For his part, Colonel Carlos Oviedo, commander of the Metropolitan Police, explained that the capture occurred after an analysis of more than 100 hours of video from security cameras, eight call recordings, five human sources, 11 interviews with witnesses. and reconstruction of the events and the path of the truck, from when it left Villacolombia until it was left in the Military Canton.
Likewise, the commander of the Third Brigade of the Army, General Juan Rendón, assured that work will continue in the municipality of Jamundí, especially in the townships of Villacolombia, La Ampudia and Robles, to continue with the offensive against the Jaime Martínez structure of FARC dissidents and prevent terrorist actions.
“At this moment in Jamundí we have 250 men coordinating the operations, but we are going to receive a ground operations battalion to work on security for COP16 in Cali”said General Rendón.
Mayor Alejandro Eder reiterated the announcement of the reward of up to 100 million pesos, to anyone who provides information that allows local authorities to continue preventing any terrorist action in Cali.
