Dante Spinetta arrives in Santa Fe presenting “Mesa Dulce” along with all his classics
After a European tour that includes performances in Spain, England and Ireland, Dante Spinetta returns to Santa Fe to perform at Tribus Club de Arte on Friday, July 12. The multifaceted artist who opened the doors to the urban genre in Argentina is one of the great figures of Latin American music of the last 30 years. With 3 Latin Grammys and multiple Latin Academy nominations, as well as 2 Anglo Grammy nominations, his musical legacy is undeniable.
In addition, he has been recognized with several GARDEL Awards in his country. Today, more relevant than ever, Dante presented what he considers his best version on MESA DULCE, an album released in 2022. In his homeland, Dante won four Gardel Music Awards in the Recording Engineering and Producer of the Year categories, for his album “Mesa Dulce”, Best Rock Song for “The Dark Side of the Heart” and Best Urban Music Collaboration for “Sudaka” with Trueno. In addition, it received three nominations in the first edition of the Rolling Stone Awards in Spanish, in the categories of “Album of the Year” for “Mesa dulce”, “Video of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for “Sudaka”. The musician also premiered the Damasco Sessions, a powerful live version of songs from “Mesa dulce.”
In his words “…they are a loving excuse to show how the band sounds live today, it is a faithful sample of what the project sounds like.” After his sold-out at the Opera Theater of the City of Buenos Aires, Dante closed the year with an incendiary set on the also iconic stage of the Gran Rex Theater, demonstrating once again the excellence of his live proposal
