After the Public Account 2024, delivered by President Gabriel Boric, from the Congress in Valparaíso, Iván Marambio, president of Frutas de Chile, highlighted the topics of sustainability, logistics, foreign trade and regular migration addressed in the speech, as these are matters of concern for the sector.
“As Frutas de Chile, we consider it very important that President Boric chose sustainability as a transversal theme of his account, because we are a sustainable country and every day it advances more in that sense,” indicated the leader of the fruit growers.
He added: “Likewise, we value the emphasis on the competitiveness of our exports, and as an example of this, he has pointed out the impulse that has been given and will continue to be given to the external port of San Antonio and the expansion of the port of Valparaíso, as well as international tours, such as the one announcing India and access to different international markets.
Finally, Marambio indicated: “We also find the tender announcement for a desalination plant very relevant, for the second half of 2024, for the Coquimbo region. In addition, the determined support for cabotage and regular migration, both very important issues for fruit growing. All these points show the importance of agriculture for Chile, as the president has highlighted in this year’s Public Account.”
