On the night of Sunday, June 2, a new massacre was recorded in the country, this time in the municipality of Cartago, Valle del Cauca, where three young people were murdered inside a home.
According to the authorities’ report, the hitman attack occurred in the El Rebaño neighborhood, where armed individuals arrived at a home and attacked the lives of those present, causing the death of three people and wounding another.
The fatal victims of this criminal act were identified as Darwin Andrés Cardona, 18 years old; Álvaro Gómez Murcia and Danilson Jaramillo.
Colonel Giovanny Cristancho, commander of the Valle del Cauca Police, assured that “an exclusive group has already been assigned to clarify the material and intellectual authors of this triple homicide.”
The NGO Institute of Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) indicated that this is the 26th massacre in the country so far this year.
The Ombudsman’s Office rejected this fact through its Cartago, Ansermanuevo and El Águila, in the north of the Department (sic)”, he published.
“We urge a rigorous investigation of the facts and the prosecution of those responsible. These events cause violations to the civilian population, which is why the authorities are reiterated to abide by the recommendations of the early warnings,” he added.
