A 36-year-old man was arrested this Sunday afternoon in Caleta Oliviaaccused of theft to an address located on the street The Willows. What seemed like a common robbery case took an unexpected turn when it was discovered that the detainee had a current arrest warrant from the justice of the Chubut.

The homeowner reported the theft of a wheelbarrow and various tools from his yard. After reviewing the property’s security cameras, a man could be observed entering the property on several occasions and stealing items.

Police personnel went to the scene and, after searching the area, they found the suspect in the Los Sauces street. The man was identified and taken to the police station for his protection.

Subsequently, the victim appeared at the police station and provided more details about the robbery. In addition, a neighbor voluntarily gave him two stolen tools: a pillory and two shovels.

The detainee underwent a medical examination and was officially arrested at 7:30 p.m. During the investigation, the Judicial Department was consulted and it was discovered that Evans had a current defiance and arrest warrant, issued on April 23, 2024 by Dr. Ivana González in relation to a case of attempted robbery in Trelew, Province of Chubut.

The judge in charge of the case ordered that the man remain detained until tomorrow, pending further judicial instructions. The investigations at the scene were carried out by personnel from the Criminalistics Cabinet Division and the Criminal Investigations Division (DDICO).
