Within the framework of the Bolivarian Shield operation “Neblina 2024” for the protection of the Amazon territory, in accordance with the provisions of the 5th objective of the Homeland Plan, the 7Ts, the CRBV, security and defense plans, Environmental Criminal Law and Water Law, the FANB in land patrol and surveillance operations located, dismantled and destroyed two illegal mining camps in the state of Amazonas.
The first camp, located in the Atabapo municipality, Yagua sector. The second camp was located on Cerro Yapacana, Mina Anibal sector.
The aforementioned camps contained the following material intended for environmental destruction and ecocide:
– One (01) 2500w generator
– Three (03) 3/4 HP motorcycle pumps..
– Three (03) plastic containers containing 350 liters of gasoline.
– Various spare parts for motor pump and power plant
– Two (02) refrigeration cellars.
– One (01) 1.5 MTS 4″ hose.
– One (01) mattress.
– Two (02) meters of carpet.
– Two (02) improvised structures for staff accommodation.
– Two (02) hydrojet.
– Twenty (20) 4″ PVC tubes.
– Thirty (30) meters. high pressure hose.
– One (01) power plant.

In the state of Amazonas, mining or hydrocarbon exploitation has been prohibited since 1976. Protection of the environment is a duty and a constitutional right.
