According to the Investment Program Execution Report, published by the Budget Directorate (Dipres) of the Ministry of Finance, the Regional Government (Gore) of Tarapacá has spent the smallest amount of the 2024 investment program budget in April.

According to the document, Gore reached 6.8% execution in investment programs in April 2024, placing it in last place in the country and below the national average, which was 17.3%.

The above, considering that at the end of the fourth month of this year the Gore of Tarapacá has executed $4,516 million pesos of the $66,586 million available for the region in this year’s fiscal year, leaving more than $62,070 million without execution.

In comparison to the other regions, Tarapacá was one of the 9 regions nationwide that were lower than the national average, where the highest budget execution in March was in the Los Lagos region with 23.2% and more than 24 billion spent.

According to the Dipres report, Tarapacá was located in April below the national average for the execution of Investment Programs, being the lowest in the country and in the Northern Macrozone.

By way of comparison, in the case of neighboring Arica-Parinacota, its execution reached 19.7%; while Antofagasta reached 17.7% and Atacama 15.4%, surpassing Tarapacá during the same period.
