The result of this conference highlights the importance of innovation and international collaboration to improve the efficiency and sustainability of port operations.
The Port of Santa Marta participated in the meeting “Technological solutions for global value chains”, organized by ICEX Spain Exportation and Investment, in collaboration with the Port Authority of Valencia (APV). The event was held in the city of Valencia with the aim of facilitating the adoption of technologies applicable to transportation, intelligent inventory management, warehouse automation, among other topics.
Representatives from other Colombian ports, such as Cartagena and Buenaventura, were also present at the event.
Domingo Chinea Barrera, president of the Port of Santa Marta, highlighted the relevance of this space to present to European businessmen the services of Colombian ports and highlighted the importance of technological integration in the logistics chain to achieve increasing security and efficiency within maritime terminals.
Attendees at the event had the opportunity to share strategies and experiences related to the incorporation of new disruptive technologies in areas such as construction, dredging, electrification, automation, docking infrastructure, cruise terminals, the use of hydrogen as fuel and sustainability.
The main objective of this mission is for ports to exchange knowledge on port technological and infrastructure development projects, with the goal of establishing alliances between Colombian ports and actors in international merchandise trade between America and Europe.
