In the last hours, the authorities confirmed the death of two minors aged 6 and 8 as a result of a hitman attack in the municipality of Candelaria, Valle del Cauca.
The subjects shot repeatedly occasions towards the vehicle, causing gunshot wounds to an adult and the two children. Although the minors were taken to a healthcare center, due to the severity of their injuries they lost their lives.
Colonel Carlos Oviedo, commander of the Cali Police, stated that the motives and attackers are the subject of investigation by the competent authorities.
“It was a regrettable event, some people who were traveling in an informal service vehicle were attacked with firearms (…) two children aged 6 and 8 died”said the commander.
Until now The health status of the adult who was in charge of the two children is unknown. who died, however, from the municipal administration they rejected this fact violent against the child population.
Given what happened, the governor of Valle, Dilian Francisca Toro, He regretted the events and asked the authorities to act forcefully and quickly.
“The murder of two children in Candelaria is a macabre event that hurts all of us in Valle del Cauca; “Violence cannot continue ending the lives of innocent victims like our minors.”said the president.
