A new day without cars and without motorcycles will take place this Tuesday, June 4, in Villavicencio. On this occasion, it is held in the midst of the celebration of “Bicycle and Physical Activity Day”, to promote exercise and a healthy environment.

In accordance with what was established through decree 054 of 2014, the measure of the Day without a car and without a motorcycle will go from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on June 4 and will not cover taxi drivers, nor will vehicles health assistance, security schemes, media, transportation of people with disabilities and courier companies.

“We want to invite the people of Villavicense to participate in the scheduled events, to use their bike, skateboard, or walk so that they can breathe a cleaner environment and also not to see the day as a day in which cars cannot circulate. and motorcycles, but as an opportunity to exercise by traveling on sustainable means of transportation or using public transportation,” said Rodolfo López, Secretary of Mobility.

What vehicles will be authorized to travel on the day without a car?

  • State officials, diplomatic corps and public services
  • Emergency and transportation of solid waste and hospital waste
  • Assistance and provision of health services
  • Cargo and merchandise transportation
  • Traffic control, tow trucks and automobile education
  • Enrolled this year in Villavicencio

This is the second day without a car or motorcycle that takes place in Villavicencio this year. The first was held last Thursday, February 1, which sought to raise awareness about the importance of adopting responsible practices in the use of transportation, promoting a more sustainable and safe environment for all citizens.
