Leuris Pupo and Jorge Félix Álvarez started with good success in the fast pistol at 25 meters, in their first stage. The London 2012 Olympic champion placed seventh with 293 points (99-97-97), the same number of units as Martin Podhrasky (CZE-5th) and Anish Anish (IND-6th) and the Tokyo titleholder- 2020 Jean Quiquampoix (FRA-8th).
Jorge Félix, for his part, accumulated 289, thanks to rounds of 98, 95 and 96, placing him in 21st place.
Tomorrow the second round will take place, which will define the finalists of the Munich competition.
Laina Pérez could not advance to the final of the 25 meter pistol after finishing in 67th place in the qualifying rounds with 566 points. On Wednesday she will return to competition in the 10 meter air pistol.
Lisbet Hernández was also unable to get a place in the 10 meter air rifle final, after finishing in 107th place with 622 units. The Chinese Yuting Huang, who dominated the classification, won the final of this modality, followed by the South Korean Hyojin Ban and Jiayu Han (CHN).
Lisbet’s next presentation will also be on Wednesday in the rifle qualifiers in three positions at 50 meters.
