The Arturo Prat University (UNAP) took an important step in strengthening education in the Tarapacá region by launching a free pre-university program aimed at students from 31 educational establishments in Tarapacá.

The pre-university course, 100% face-to-face, will offer a complete study plan that covers all the content necessary for the PAES test over 23 weeks of classes.

Sessions will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the university facilities, complemented by massive rehearsals on Saturdays and five additional exams per subject.

Diego Olivares, director of Liaison at UNAP, highlighted the program’s objective of facilitating access to higher education. “The message is to take advantage of this opportunity. Admission to university is a constant and very dedicated job. However, it also has many fruits,” said Olivares.

For her part, Dr. Liliana Herrera, Academic Vice-Rector of UNAP, stressed the importance of vocational preparation in the program. “UNAP Pre-University is a preparation in a disciplinary field, but we are also going to intervene in a vocational context, so that each student is clear.”

Likewise, the pre-university program will also include a vocational exploration approach to enhance the specific skills and competencies of each student, in addition to the knowledge necessary for the PAES test. Students selected for their academic excellence will have access to a platform to monitor their progress and results.
