Within the framework of the immunization campaign to protect the child population, the Headquarters began visiting educational units to vaccinate schoolchildren against influenza, poliomyelitis and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
Jaime Bilbao, director of the Headquarters, explained that there is already a schedule for visiting schools so that minors from 2 to 12 years of age are immunized against influenza.
“We are concerned that children are protected against influenza, polio and HPV. Today parents do not have the excuse not to vaccinate their children, we only require their authorization so that when the brigades arrive they are vaccinated,” said Bilbao.
Currently, the influenza vaccination rate has reached 125 thousand people and it is expected that with the expansion of the age group this figure will double. As for the cases, there are 43 confirmed positives and none hospitalized in intensive care.
The health authority recommended to the population that if they visit spaces with large crowds of people, they use a mask, wash their hands with soap and use alcohol gel.
