Córdoba: The radical Rossi demanded that the Municipality declare a security emergency – WRITING

The provincial legislator, Dante Rossi (UCR), demanded that Mayor Daniel Passerini declare a security emergency. “In Córdoba, security is collapsed,” says the legislator in an open letter addressed to the communal chief.

Rossi states that “more than 250 robberies and robberies are reported per day and 70% of the neighbors do not know who the neighborhood police officer is who is looking after them. This fact is aggravated when more than 40% do not file a report when they suffer a criminal act.”

The legislator who is part of the Building Córdoba bloc states that “with data from a survey, we can conclude that 52% of the people of Córdoba or their families suffered a criminal act in the last year and that 50.6% feel not at all safe. in their neighborhood (only 8.6% very safe).”

He points out in the document sent to the mayor that “the picturesque citizen security mobiles are not enough. We propose that the City, together with the Province, declare a security emergency for one year, with the aim of providing government officials with effective tools to adequately combat crime.”

In this framework, Rossi promotes 10 measures “to generate a palliative in the face of this very serious situation.” Among them are “promoting the trial for flagrante delicto, in order to end the spinning of justice; place, within a maximum period of 90 days, 150 intelligent license plate readers, which can detect vehicles with a kidnapping request or with apocryphal license plates, which are the means by which crimes are mostly committed; open the 43 police stations of the City once a month, so that with their responsible authorities, they can give explanations to the neighbors; and guarantee the safety of the children who attend schools, prohibiting half an hour before and half an hour after the parking of vehicles on the school block (except for the arrest of those who take their children to the establishment), with a police order at that time and with the appointment by the institution of a coordinator to assist with the authorities.”

It also promotes the creation of a “Security Advisory Council, with all actors who have something to propose to monitor and propose alternatives; sign an agreement with the provincial police so that reports of robberies and petty thefts can be taken by municipal employees with prior training; provide places to make complaints through the placement of QR Codes in buses, shopping centers, and public buildings; Enable CPCs as complaint reception centers; determine that the designation of the person responsible for security for the City must be ratified by the Deliberative Council; and install 1,500 surveillance cameras.”
