The National Police carried out an intervention in the Municipal Prison of Chiriguaná, Cesar, where they seized 16 mobile devices, 13 sharp weapons, cell phone chargers, a USB memory and a marijuana plant.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the Public Ministry, with the purpose of preventing and counteracting the possession of prohibited items inside, in this prison facility.
According to the municipal representative, Sergio Orellano, in the procedure the rights of the inmates were guaranteed and that the registration was carried out with all the transparencies and guarantees.
The official also pointed out that during the visit the poor state of the prison infrastructure was evident, which puts the health of the inmates there at risk.
It should also be noted that recently the National Police also discovered a woman who was trying to enter this site with drugs camouflaged in the food she was bringing to her partner during a visit.
Upon verifying these facts, the citizen was captured and prosecuted for the crime of trafficking and possession of narcotics.
