Today marks nine years since the first march of the #NiUnaMenos movement and the people of Tucumán mobilized, like every June 3, towards Plaza Independencia.

The mobilization had emerged as a collective response to the femicide of Chiara Paeza 14-year-old teenager beaten to death by her boyfriend for refusing to have an abortion.

From that moment on, on that date, women, LGBT+ people and society in general raise their voices to end gender-based violence, question the patriarchal system and pay tribute to those who were fatal victims of its consequences. Despite the mobilization, the official data is still discouraging.
