Two pipe thieves fall in the San Miguelito neighborhood; acts of vandalism leave potosinos without water

He San Luis Potosí City Council continues to record acts of vandalism in municipal infrastructure by people who seek to damage the services of other citizens, this time in the San Miguelito neighborhoodwhere a water pipe was stolen.

According to the Municipal Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat of San Luis Potosí (SSPC), elements of the corporation detained two people who were on 5 de Mayo Street in the San Miguelito neighborhood, where works are being carried out to improve road infrastructure, they stole hydraulic pipes and construction materials.

The two men were detected through the surveillance cameras connected to C4 Municipal, so agents who were patrolling in the Historic Center of the capital, managed to identify two people, one identified as Sergio Alberto “N”, 33 years old, and Felipe de Jesús “N”, 33 years old, who committed the acts of vandalism and theft.

The Municipal SSPC indicated that after his arrest, the stolen material was recovered, which included pieces of PVC. Just as it was identified that the two people could be related to the theft of copper pipes in el San Sebastián neighborhoodduring the first months of 2024.

During the last month, various acts of vandalism have been recorded, such as copper pipe theft in the San Sebastián neighborhood, which left residents without water due to the repair of the theft; theft of wiring in various areas of the city, which has left the residents of Potosí without electricity; damage to the infrastructure of municipal wells and sanitation such as the Manuel José Othón bridge, where the sewage ducts were blocked.
