Provincial evaluation of epidemiological indices.

The holder of the health portfolio, doctor Luis Medina Ruizaccompanied by members of his cabinet, led the weekly meeting where they evaluate the epidemiological indices together with the provincial leaders.

Medina Ruiz commented that 112 cases of dengue were reported last week and more than 1,700 of influenza-type illness (ILI). “The viruses that are circulating are H1N1 and H3N2 and they can be prevented with the vaccine we are using. During this week we are carrying out intensive vaccination in public spaces and in all our vaccination centers. The use of masks and hand washing continues to be our recommendation,” she said.

In Tucumán cases of Influenza increase: “We have a 30% positivity of patients with flu”

On the other hand, he said that “there is a small rebound in cases of bronchiolitis, but less than 200 per week, which is a figure that we usually exceed, but now it is not happening thanks to the recommendations that the population is following and the vaccines.”

On the occasion, the director of Epidemiology, doctor Romina Cuezzo, recommended that in the presence of fever a consultation be made suspecting that it may be a case of dengue. “We must keep in mind that we are also faced with the presence of other epidemiological situations, such as the respiratory virus, where influenza A is predominant today. As for bronchiolitis, we are seeing a low presence, but it must be noted that the other respiratory viruses that circulate in young children can cause cases of bronchiolitis. All the prevention that we learned with the pandemic must be sustained,” he concluded.
