The provincial government highlighted the vocation of cash in its rapid action.

The Government of the province of Neuquén highlighted the actions of the Neuquén police agent, Gabriel Pérez, who rescued a baby who had drowned and could not breathe.

The force provides services in Neuquén capital, at the Richieri Street Headquarters Guard, dependent on the Deputy Police Headquarters. The incident occurred at noon last Saturday, while he was on duty and noticed the arrival of a car that was speeding towards the police building.

Two women came out from inside with a baby who was drowning and could not recover on her own. Faced with this situation, the uniformed officer intervened and performed the Heimlich maneuver, which allowed the little girl to spew milk and mucus that obstructed her airways.

Under these circumstances, First Corporal Fabián Sepúlveda, who was arriving from another assignment, agreed to the procedure and collaborated in providing assistance. At the same time, the uniformed officers requested the presence of medical personnel and in a few minutes an ambulance from the SIEN arrived.

The baby was rushed to the Castro Rendón hospital, where she received the necessary medical attention until she fully recovered.
